Elisa Yngwe

Elisa YngweI have always dreamed of living in New York. I have always dreamed of experiencing this amazing city from another perspective than the one of a tourist, to actually feel how it is like to be a real new yorker. While experiencing this great urban playground you would most likely find me grooving along in a smokey jazz bar, looking for fashion treasures in one of the many boutiques in Soho, exploring the latest exhibition at MoMA, being enchanted by a grand musical or an innovative off-Broadway play, discussing the latest global news over a sunday brunch (my favorite meal of the week), or just strolling around in Central Park. The exciting melt pot that New York City is, with its never-ending list of things to see and do, and its dedicated inhabitants with roots from all over the world – is a truly enchanting environment that I cannot wait to be a part of.

I am a marketing major from Stockholm, Sweden, and as you may already have guessed my biggest interests are in the field of culture and arts, and one day I hope to be able to combine my marketing studies with that area of interests – and hopefully make a career out of it. When I came across the IIB program at SUNY New Paltz, I could not have found a more intriguing format for an exchange semester. Being able to combine the American college experience with working in the biggest and probably most inspiring metropolis in the world is simply an opportunity I could not resist. Big cities inspire me. Cosmopolitan environments make me grow. And I am sure this semester is going to be an experience I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
