You haven’t really experienced NYC until you have ridden a bicycle across downtown. Today, Saturday the 19th, was the hottest day yet, temperature reaching 27 degrees Celsius during midday. Almost all the IIB students agreed that this will be the best day to explore the city by bike.
As most of you probably know, one may not ride on side-walks, you have to use the roads, sharing them with fast and furious traffic. Yes, at first it was a bit horrifying to ride the streets of downtown NY, but after discovering the bike paths, it became more pleasant and safer.
Now I understand why so many New Yorkers have a bicycle, it is a really easy and convenient way of getting from A to B. Suddenly New York isn’t big anymore.
